How To Register to Vote or Update Registration

You have to register to vote, or re-register (submit a new voter registration form) if you:

  • Have not previously registered to vote in California,
  • Moved,
  • Changed your name,
  • Want to change your party affiliation, or
  • Want your ballot mailed to a new address.

We recommend that you check your voter registration to be sure all is in order, including your Party Affiliation.  It’s Quick & Easy.

To Check Your Current Voter Registration with CA Secretary  of State’s Office:  Click Here.

To Check Your Current Voter Registration with LA County Registrar:  Click Here.

To Register to Vote or Correct Registration Online:  Click Here.

The Registration Deadline for the March 4, 2024 election is February 20, 2024, so ideally your registration should be postmarked or submitted electronically by then.  HOWEVER, IF YOU  MISS THE VOTING REGISTRATION DEADLINE, DON’T WORRY.  JUST SHOW UP AT A VOTING CENTER.  YOU CAN IN FACT STILL REGISTER AND VOTE CONDITIONALLY UP TO AND INCLUDING ELECTION DAY!

IN  THAT CASE, WE RECOMMEND BRINGING WITH YOU SOME FORM OF ID AND PROOF OF YOUR CALIFORNIA RESIDENCY TO FACILITATE VERIFICATION OF YOUR REGISTRATION.   BUT IN ANY CASE, SHOW UP BY OR BEFORE ELECTION DAY.  THE POLL WORKERS WILL HELP YOU.    Your ballot will be processed once the county elections office has completed the voter registration verification process.
