He is the only Congressman named in the Mueller investigation. His ties to Russia are so worrisome that he is considered a security risk, and his fellow Republicans have curbed his power. Democrat Harley Rouda is running an effective challenge to unseat him. Recent independent polls show them neck-in-neck, with Harley slightly ahead. Nationally, the Republicans are so worried that Harley will win that they are funneling in $ 3 million in ad money against him.
In contrast, Harley Rouda is a successful businessman who will bring solid thinking, sound policy and integrity to Washington. He believes good business is consistent with environmental protection, strengthening the middle class, equal pay for equal work, a living wage, Medicare for all, and free or affordable college tuition. He believes in equal rights for all, a woman’s right to make all decisions about her own body and health, a humane immigration policy, holding Trump accountable, and changing corrupt campaign finance practices enshrined in Citizens United. He has pledged not to take money from Big Oil, Big Tobacco, Big Pharma or the Gun Lobby.
