Robert Bernard Reich ( born June 24, 1946) is an American economist, professor, author, and political commentator. He served in the administrations of Presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. He was Secretary of Labor in the Clinton Administration from 1993 to 1997. He was a member of President Barack Obama’s economic transition advisory board.
Reich has been the Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley since January 2006. He was formerly a professor at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and professor of social and economic policy at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management of Brandeis University. He has also been a contributing editor of The New Republic, The American Prospect (also chairman and founding editor), Harvard Business Review, The Atlantic, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Please join us for a Community Gathering to Mark the Anniversary of the Woolsey Fire and honor Malibu’s Recovery and Resilience this Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Zuma Beach Lot 8, Malibu (Between Morning View Dr. and Guernsey Ave.)
The event will feature a poetry reading by Malibu Poet Laureate Ellen Reich, musical performances by Malibu’s Brandon Jenner and the Malibu High School Choir, personal testimonials from community members, special giveaways for Malibu residents and delicious food and refreshments generously provided by Bob Morris’s Paradise Cove Beach Café. All are welcome to attend, no RSVPs are needed. There will be an art activity for kids, making healing cards for those who lost their homes in the fire, trees to plant at home, a home library restoration project with the Malibu Library, and more.
