Countdown to Election Day 2024
Lance Simmens, Vice-President of the Malibu Democratic Club, will be sworn in as a new Public Works Commissioner on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, in the Multi-Purpose Room, at Malibu City Hall. Lance is being appointed by new City Council Member Mikke Pierson. All welcome. Free Parking.
Residents are invited to attend a Town Hall Meeting featuring Los Angeles County Fire Department Chief Daryl Osby on Saturday, January 26, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Malibu City Hall. Chief Osby will provide insight into the fire response operations during the Woolsey Fire and answer questions from the community. Chief Osby has served as the Chief since 2011 and has been with the Department for more than 30 years. The Town Hall Meeting will take place in the Council Chambers, located on the first floor of City Hall (23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu, CA 90265). - To vote, you must show up in person.
- To be eligible to vote, you must be a registered Democrat living in the 50th district (which includes Malibu).
- On-site voter registration is available for those not registered as Democrats.
- You get up to 14 votes for delegates: 7 for “self-identified females”, and 7 for “other than self-identified females”. Delegates declare what seat they are running for when they file their candidacy, and that will be clearly indicated on your ballot. If you vote for less than 14 people, your vote will still be counted. One of your votes must also be someone running for Executive Board Representative. Executive Board candidates will be clearly identified on the ballot. Volunteers on-site will be able to answer any questions you have.
