The Pacific Palisades July 4 Americanism Parade is one of the best and most fun July 4 parades in LA, and indeed, one of the best July 4 Parades in the nation.
It’s a joy to watch, the perfect way to celebrate July 4.
BUT EVEN BETTER! THIS YEAR YOU CAN BE IN THE PARADE!
The Pacific Palisades Democratic Club is one of the community groups walking in the Parade, and invites all Dems to walk with them in this years’ Pacific Palisades July 4 Parade. You can bring your children if they are able to do the walk – about 1.5 – 2.0 miles.
IF YOU WANT TO BE IN THE PACIFIC PALISADES PARADE WITH THE PACIFIC PALISADES DEMOCRATIC CLUB, YOU NEED TO RSVP asap. To RSVP: Click Here *** Please also be sure to read important Participant Information Below.****
Started in 1948, the Palisades Parade starts with skydivers, and has over 100 groups, including great marching bands from all over the country, equestrian units, celebrities, elected officials and many community groups, children, and one of the best groups, “The Patriotic Pups” (Palisadians dress up their dogs for July 4 to be in the “Patriotic Pups” section of the Parade.

DRESS CODE FOR PARADE PARTICIPANTS: Wear red, white &/or blue. OR you can wear the Pacific Palisades Democratic Club T-shirt. You can buy a PPDC T-shirt by emailing Info@PalisadesDemClub.org . Please specify your size(s) (XL, L, M, S). If still available, PPDC T-shirts can be bought when you arrive at the parade, but cash only and exact change will be needed ($ 25.) IMPORTANT REMINDER: Check the weather forecast on July 4 to see how hot it will be. Wear Comfortable Shoes. Bring Water, and Sunscreen and/or a Hat or Parasol.
NOTE FOR THOSE IN THE PARADE: The Pacific Palisades July 4 Americanism Parade is a celebration where all in the community come together to celebrate July 4 and the founding of our great nation. It’s a community, non-political, non-partisan event, where the community celebrates each other, our country and the holiday. The PPDC participates as part of the community. Rather than a protest march, this is a day of celebration. So issue or protest signs or T-shirts are not appropriate. Meet the Candidate
The 4th in our “Meet the Candidate” Series will feature Presidential Candidate, Washington State Governor Jay Inslee. Gov. Inslee will come to the Palisades to meet the community and answer your questions. The “Meet the Candidate” events are designed to provide you the opportunity to meet the Democratic Presidential candidates in person. We believe there is a qualitative difference between meeting a candidate in person and getting an impression on television.
Hosts: Malibu Democratic Club, Pacific Palisades Democratic Club, Santa Monica Democratic Club & West LA Democratic Club
When: Monday, July 22. Doors Open at 4:30 pm. Program begins at 5:00 pm.
Where: Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club, 901 Haverford Ave., Pacific Palisades, CA 90272
Cost: Free, but rsvp required.
Parking: Plenty of free Parking is available along Temescal Canyon Road, near the Woman’s Club.
Light refreshments provided.
Inslee served 7 terms in the US Congress, before being elected Governor of Washington in 2012. Inslee has long supported policies that would reverse climate change and create a strong, green economy. This will be his top priority if elected President. Inslee believes Washington State shows the economic power of progressive action. During Inslee’s tenure as Governor, Washington state has become first in job, wage, and GDP growth. It is the only state to rank as both the best place to work, and the best place to do business. As Governor, he has signed laws that (1) invest in public education, (2) significantly increased the state minimum wage, (3) provide sick leave for all workers, (4) provide 12 weeks of family leave for new parents, (5) invest in green infrastructure and jobs; (6) change the protocols for use of deadly force by the police, (7) implement a buy-back program from bum-stocks, (8) implement a suite of clean energy laws, and (9) improve mental health care, among other things. In the US House of Representatives, Inslee voted for the Federal Assault Weapons Ban in 1994 and against the war in Iraq in 2002.
